Importing data from other family history software programs is easy. This
guide will show you how to quickly import your data directly from
Personal Ancestry File v5 (and previous versions) into PedigreeSoft.com.
1. Load your PAF file in Personal Ancestral File. Select File -> Export...
2. On the Export dialog, select Other GEDCOM 5.5 and click Export.
3. Save the GEDCOM export file on your computer. Note the save location.
4. Select Import on the the Pedigree File Explorer menu in PedigreeSoft.com.
5. Click Browse... and locate the GEDCOM file that you saved in step 3 and click Import.
6. The file will imported into your PedigreeSoft.com file. A summary will be displayed.
Congratulations. You've now imported all your PAF5 data into
PedigreeSoft.com and can share that file with your family and friends.
Keep in mind, however, that you can't exceed the individual limit imposed
by your subscription level. The basic account only allows up to 50
individuals before you'll need to purchase an subscription. The import
utility will import up to the limit set in your account and the remaining
individuals will be discarded. |

| You may want to add a note between step 3 and 4 that the user must create a database in PedigreeSoft before “Import” will be available in the Pedigree File Explorer. |
