In 1863, William Hugh Reynolds [also known as Tip] and his wife Phoeba traveled traveled by wagon train from Omaha, NE to California [Marysville area]. Their first child, James William, was born in CA in 1864.

William and his wife did not like California, and returned to Iowa via boat and train about 1866. William was born in Illinois abt 1840, and he died in Iowa in the 1930s. He married Phoeba abt 1862. Phoeba was born in 1845 in Ohio.

Children of William Hugh Reynolds and Phoeba Jane [surname?]:
James William (1864), Mary J. (1866), John H. (1868), Theresa A. (1870), Syntha M. [possibly Cynthia] (1872), and Rachel (1876). All the children, except James, were born near Otter Creek, Linn County, Iowa.

I'm looking to verify William's wife's full name.
I'm looking to verify if they had other children.
I'm looking for information of William's father. I believe his name to be John Reynolds, and he was raised in Virginia. I've been told he was a farmer and owned 21 slaves. The 1880 census showed that he was born in Tennessee, probably around 1810. I believe that his wife's name could have been Elizabeth. According to the 1880 census, she appears to have been born in New York [couldn't make out the letters].

James William Reynolds married Martha Catherine McBride in 1889 in Defiance, Shelby County, Iowa. Martha was born in 1869 in Indiana. According to census records, they raised their children in Iowa.

Floy Merton (1889), Ada C. (1891), Clede (1893), Fay Thomas (1895), Zona Celeste (1901), Leoda (1904), and Vyonne (1906).

James and his wife eventually moved to Minnesota [Yellow Medicine county]. That is where they lived out their remaining years. I am told that James is buried in the town of Canby, Yellow Medicine, MN. I do believe he actually died in 1943 in Hennepin County, MN where he was receiving medical treatments.

I am looking for information on Martha McBride and her parents. I believe her father's name may have been Thomas and her mother may have been Sarah Ann Eller.
I am looking for information on their children's spouses and families.
I am looking for family stories or anecdotes.
I am looking for information on their James' life after the children were married.
